"The Khmeleva project" by Port Mone and DakhaBrakha

"Songlines" magazine (UK): "The resulting experience was like some kind of atavistic pagan ritual. The raw material of Ukranian rural songs was transefigured into trance-like arrangement that had everybody dancing..."

the Dead Music Union (Finland): "If one has an open mind, however, it is something that contains a lot of innovation and delicious gems, from one track to the next..."

"The Khmeleva project" was created in 2011 by the Belarusian instrumental trio Port Mone and the Ukrainian ethno band DakhaBrakha. Solo works by both bands are well known and popular both in Europe and beyond it.

In 2012 the joint project released the album "Khmeleva project". The album was recorded at Toyastudios in Poland with the support of the Polish independent label Hermetic Garage. The Ukrainian event agency ArtPole played the key role in organization of the whole process having taken every effort to release the album.

The project tours regularly. Send your inquiries to portmone@gmail.com

Kaspars Zavileiskis (Latvia): "A perfect example of a complementary international collaboration as well as magnificent accordion sounding."

Viktar Siamashka (Belarus): "Strength and beauty of this album are in natural harmony, sense of God's insight, vision of what's beyound..."

Che Kevlin: "...the live collaboration with the band, together with my interaction with a 35mm slide projector on stage, seemed to be very different from the traditional theatre and dance shows commonly accessible throughout London..."

"Nostalgia 2012", a solo show by the Lakeside Theatre Associate Artist Che Kevlin, has recently finished its development time at the Lakeside Theatre, under the dramaturgy and performance guidance of Polona Baloh-Brown. Supported by the National Lottery through Arts Council England. The show is accompanied on stage by Belarus alternative instrumental trio Port Mone, who have recently reaped quite a few prestigious music awards.

Nostalgia 2012 is a contemporary experimental theatre performance, which sets out to explore the increasingly complex notion of home and memory in the rapidly changing Britain of today. Structured around three life changing experiences of trauma, this one man show follows Aristotelian tragic arch with a contemporary twist, taking the audiences on a ride through East Anglia’s 1970s, 80s and 90s.
